Custom Carved Sapele Map A2 size

A made to order heritage map of your local area, carved into solid Sapele hardwood.

Each custom carved map is an individually designed wooden artwork depicting a place of personal, historical or sentimental importance. The map is drawn from historical Ordnance Survey records, with grid lines removed and the map data curated for clarity and visual balance, then precision carved to create a detailed and legible representation of the chosen area.

The panel is A2 size (42cm by 60cm) and 18mm thick, and it is left deliberately unframed so the timber itself is the object. Once carved, the surface is sealed and varnished to enhance contrast and durability. It hangs from a single wall screw and is small enough to take down and pass around. A map made to be held as well as looked at.

A small brass marker can be set into the map at a location that matters to you, the house, the church, the place where a story began.

Custom maps can be created from an address, street name, neighbourhood or clearly described area. Location details can be provided after checkout if preferred, making the process simple while allowing flexibility for gifts and commissions.
